The beach is managed by a concessionaire under a US Forest Service special use permit. 64 Acres Beach is a popular and scenic beach on National Forest land near downtown Tahoe City. On the river side, there is a paved walkway to the river's edge for non-motorized canoe, kayak and raft use. The site also includes picnic tables, bbqs and portable public restrooms.
