Dear Journalist:

With leisure, family and adventure travel increasing in popularity, North Lake Tahoe is the place to go in the summer, winter, fall and spring.

In the warmer months, the destination offers golfing, stand up paddle boarding, hiking, mountain biking, rafting, kayaking, water-skiing, jet-skiing, swimming, parasailing, hiking, cycling, rock climbing, camping, marathons, triathlons, adventure races, road races and everything in between.

The serene side of North Lake Tahoe offers shopping, spas, fine dining, wine events, casinos, open-air movies and concerts under the stars. Foodies and wine lovers should note that the region’s premier culinary event, the 28th Lake Tahoe Autumn Food and Wine Festival, is at the Village at Northstar and select North Tahoe venues September 6-8, 2013 when the creations of local and celebrity chefs, along with California’s finest wines, will be featured.

In the winter, it’s the slopes that get all the action, and with the largest concentration of ski resorts in the country (more resorts than any other mountain destination), skiers and snowboarders can take in plenty of downhilling. North Lake Tahoe traditionally offers 400 inches of snowfall annually and 274 days of sunshine.

For those that prefer other winter activities, there is dog sledding, cross-country skiing, ice-skating, snow tubing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing.
