Pre-Winter Season Passes on Sale in North Lake Tahoe
North Lake Tahoe, Calif./Nev. (Oct 10. 2016) – North Lake Tahoe ski resorts are running discounts on 2016-17 season passes in advance of early opening dates to offer world-class skiing without a world-class price tag. Not ready to commit to a full season pass? There are also ticket packages and multi-resort passes available to guests and locals.
Comprised of the most concentrated number of ski resorts in North America, adventure awaits each guest along with an opportunity to have a very different skiing experience from day to day. From iconic cliff drops at Squaw Valley to panoramic lakeside views at Diamond Peak and Homewood, to the award-winning terrain park at Northstar California and long cross-country runs at Royal Gorge, North Tahoe offers a diverse advantage in comparison to other destinations.
The region introduces more than $4.1 million in updates to snowmaking, grooming equipment and on-mountain safety this 2016-17 season. Mount Rose Ski Tahoe kicks off the winter season on Halloween – the earliest opening date of all North Tahoe resorts. Guests can take advantage of season passes loaded with value savings. Exclusive to pass holders, load early into the Blazing Zephyr 6 trail and get access to the first tracks of the day, every day. in advance of the resort’s Oct. 31 opening day.
At Squaw Valley I Alpine Meadows, take advantage of Gold, Silver, Bronze and College Season passes starting at $899, $649, $519 and $479 with amenities including unlimited blackout days, discounted friend & family tickets and four day passes to Sierra-At-Tahoe and Sugar Bowl. The resort opens as early as Nov. 11.
Diamond Peak’s Preseason Sale runs through Oct. 31, rates start at $419 for an adult Full Pass or $299 for a Midweek Pass. In addition, both passes include 44 bonus lift tickets and four discounted bring-a-friend tickets.
At Homewood Mountain Ski Resort, Adult season passes are on sale starting at $459 for locals and returning guests, and include five free Buddy Tickets. Bonuses also include a 30 percent discount on daily guest tickets, a 10 percent discount on food, beverage, rentals and demos. Guests can also take advantage of discounted 3-Packs that include three daily lift tickets starting at $53 per day. Purchase soon as these packs sell out quickly.
Explore Royal Gorge, the largest cross-country ski resort in North America with unlimited XC and snowshoeing on eight trails and nine warming huts across 6,000 acres. Adult passes for ages 23 – 64 start at $319. Cross-country enthusiasts can also bring the family in on the fun as children 12 and under and Seniors 75 and older now have access to the 2016/2017 Unrestricted XC Season Pass.
The Granlibakken Tahoe Ski Hill, right out of Granlibakken’s backyard, is perfect for beginner and intermediate athletes. Adults ride for $30 on full days, $16 on half-days and $35 on holidays. Children 12 and under also ski for $20 full days, $10 half-days and $25 on holidays.
Northstar California offers a discounted Tahoe Local Pass starting at $569 for adults and a Tahoe Value Pass starting at $479 for adults. Perks include six Ski-With-A-Friend Tickets and discounted pass tickets for the more coveted blackouts dates. Want to ski around the world? With the Epic Pass, get international access to 30 European resorts across France, Italy, Switzerland and more for only $849.
At both the Tahoe Donner Downhill and Tahoe Donner Cross Country, early season rates are valid through Nov. 30. Tahoe Donner Downhill passes start at $304 for adults. New this winter, the Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Area is offering a snowshoe-only season pass and a fat bike season pass on sale for $200 each. Guests under the age of 6 always ski free and seniors over 60 receive discounted passes at both resorts. Guests ages 70 and older ski free at the downhill area.
Family owned and operated Donner Ski Ranch is one of the most family friendly ski resorts at the North Shore, and now one of the most affordable. Season passes are on sale until Oct. 15 and include unrestricted days and zero blackouts. Tickets start at $249 for adults ages 18 – 69. After Oct. 15, prices increase to $299, so purchase now for the best deal.
Sugar Bowl Ski Resort sells unrestricted season passes starting at $699 for adults and includes discounts on food & beverage, retail items, group lessons and rentals, four unrestricted tickets to Squaw Valley / Alpine Meadows, Three 50 percent off tickets for friends & family, and one trail pass/lesson/rental package at Royal Gorge. Amenities are valid beginning Nov. 1.
With the Unlimited Season Pass from Boreal Mountain Resort, ride all day, any day from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m for $259 all season. Also available is the Youth Pass with unlimited days and no blackout days for ages 13 – 23 at $199. Boreal also offers a variety of amenities of choice added on to any season pass including discounted seasonal rentals and unlimited access to sister resort, Soda Springs Mountain Resort located only five minutes away from Boreal.
The Auburn Ski Club Training Center offers memberships including five free nights at Boral Mountain Resort and will be selling 2016/17 season passes on sale soon. The combined Alpine, Nordic, Biathalon and Snowboard training center helps fund junior programs and is a non-profit facility dedicated to teaching others the enjoyment of winter sports.
